+The first Episcopal church is established in Charlotte.  It is begun as a mission, and becomes a parish of the diocese in 1844.

McLeary is to receive in trust "the Love tract" of some 247 A, consisting of several small parcels located on Paw Cr adj John Bennet, Stephen Wilson, Tho. Hoover, and Andrew Clarke.  [W2]  (Michael McLeary and William H. McLeary were buried at Paw Creek Presbyterian Church.)

+PC.  September 1.  Jane Hoover, wife of John S. Love, dies from influenza.  [PC].  (A letter written by Nancy Johnston Lawing Scott to her children in California, written in Mecklenburg County, NC on November 28, 1846; mentions the deaths of the wives of Moses Love and John Love that summer.)

1847
+PC.  February 24.  Robert A. Todd, husband of Mary S. Love, dies.  [PC]
+PC.  October 25.  William Summerville posts bond to administer the estate of Moses Love, deceased.  Securities are John McCord and Joseph Love.
+PC.  November 30.  Purchasing at the estate sale of Moses Love are (among others) John Love, Joseph Love, Thomas Love, and Sarah Love.
+PC.  Birth of Andrew Love, about 1847.  Described as "mulatto" in the 1860 census, when he resides in the home of Thomas Love and Cornelia Kerr.  Probably born after the death of Elizabeth Rodden and before Thomas' marriage to Cornelia Kerr.  Another Andy Love is shown in the 1860 census.  He is 12 years old, mulatto.  He is listed in the household of John Grimes, age 25, black.  Also listed are Mary Grimes, 20, mulatto; Henry Grimes, 6, mulatto; Margaret Grimes, 4, mulatto; John Grimes, 1, mulatto.  This Andy Love may be the same as Andrew Love listed in the household of Thomas Love.
